McAfee Security 1.2 for Mac is the virus protection application recommended by MIT for users of Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. It includes McAfee Security for Macintosh, which replaces McAfee's VirusScan for Mac.
The McAfee Security for Mac installer automatically removes any previous versions of VirusScan or McAfee Security. If you have other virus protection software installed on your Mac, IS&T recommends that you remove it.

Known issue: VMware Fusion 2.x and 3.x are not compatible with McAfee Security 1.2 or VirusScan 8.6.x for Mac. If you are currently running one of these previous versions of VMware Fusion, IS&T recommends upgrading to VMware Fusion 5.x.
