The Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), a groundbreaking computing data center in Holyoke, MA, will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for today’s increasingly data-rich research. MIT is one of the Center's member institutions.
In this video, Greg Webster, the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Manager for the MGHPCC construction project, narrates a virtual tour of the upper floor. Using the building information modeling tool Navisworks, he discusses how the computers will be housed, with multiple "pods" being serviced by a complex system of distributed power, cooling, sprinkler and network infrastructure.
