MIT Cable Television operates and maintains MIT's cable network of over 6500 connections; there is a cable television connection in every dormitory room and in many lounges, common areas and offices.

Campus Broadcast Services:

Live cable broadcast of campus events
We can deliver video broadcasts of live events to everywhere on campus that cable is available. This is useful for providing overflow viewing for oversubscribed events or reaching viewers in dormitories. -
Campus video transport for videoconferencing or webcasts
MIT Cable connects with the groups providing webcasts and videoconferences, and extends their range to the entire campus. -
Playback of recordings
We can schedule and show recordings on one of our channels. -
Off-air recordings
We can record programming for "fair use" applications. Recordings are available on DVD.

Getting Started
To schedule a program through our Campus Broadcast Services, send the following information to MIT Cable Television:
- Date and time of broadcast
- Source of program (live, recording, satellite)
- Designated viewing locations (if required)
- Any special instructions
