OpenID Connect (OIDC) is a RESTful authorization service that allows members of the MIT community to set authorization requirements for applications to access their RESTful Web APIs and Services at MIT. These requirements are based on OAuth2.0.
Benefits and key features
- Allows API developers at MIT to register their APIs to be protected by OIDC.
- End users that seek to access these APIs must be authenticated by Touchstone and obtain an OAuth2.0 token from OIDC.
- Application developers at MIT can obtain OAuth2.0 tokens specifically for their applications.
