MIT Cable adds RTV: 10/21/2009
MIT Cable has added WMFP-DT - Lawrence/Boston to cable channel 20. WMFP carries the Retro Television Network (RTV) which shows "the best programming of all time on one channel all day long," including popular programs from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. For more information, see RTV's program schedule.
DTV Transition and MIT Cable: 07/14/2009
On June 12, 2009, analog television stations shut down their analog transmitters as the last phase of the transition to Digital Television (DTV). The DTV transition applies only to television received over the air with an antenna and has no impact on services offered by MIT Cable.
For viewers who have or are planning to get a digital television, MIT Cable is already broadcasting DTV / HDTV signals. We use the "HDTV Cable" standard (also known as 256QAM). All of our DTV channels are free and broadcast "in the clear" without encryption. See our full channel lineup for more details.
