Overview

IS&T is pleased to announce that Microsoft Exchange will be available as an integrated communication service commencing October 2009. This optional service better meets a segment of our Community's growing demand for a more tightly integrated email and calendaring experience, a contemporary Webmail solution, and better integration for emerging technologies including mobile devices.

Some benefits include:

  • Integrated email and calendaring
  • Increased integration and support for mobile devices (Blackberry and iPhone)
  • A robust, web-based email service, Outlook Web Access (OWA)
  • Native operating system support and integration for both Microsoft Windows users and Macintosh users with Apple's upcoming release of Snow Leopard
  • Self-service ability to recover inadvertently deleted email

To request a departmental migration to Exchange, contact ist-exchange-deployment@mit.edu.
