About Software at MIT

IS&T provides services to help you obtain and use software at MIT. Many applications are available at no cost, and we broker volume license agreements for others. If the software you need is not freely available via direct download, CD-ROM, or other method, you will likely find it at a discount from GovConnection.

IS&T provides several options for numerical and mathematical software for academic and research uses.

Get Software via the Microsoft Campus Agreement:

The Microsoft Campus Agreement grants members of educational institutions the right to use various Microsoft products.

Volume Software Licensing:

IS&T offers volume license agreements to members of the MIT community for variety of software packages.

Buy Software at a Discount:

If the software you need is not available from MIT at no cost, MIT community members are eligible to buy from GovConnection (an online catalog that provides discount software purchases) through eCAT3.
