Note: Before installing Oracle 9i, you need to make sure that earlier versions of Oracle have been uninstalled. Components to be removed by default, if they are found, are Oracle Client, versions 7 and 8.

It is OK to run the uninstall program even if you're not sure if earlier versions are on your computer.

  1. Download MIT-Oracle-Uninstall.EXE.
  2. On your PC, locate MIT-Oracle-Uninstall.EXE and double-click the icon to run it.

Result: The uninstaller locates all versions of Oracle on your computer, then displays the Installations Found dialog box: Found versions are checked.

  3. Click on Next.

Result: The Confirm Choices dialog box displays:

  4. Click on Uninstall.

Result: A status box displays indicating progress of the uninstall.

  5. When the Uninstalling status box(es) disappear, the uninstall is done. There is no dialog box to announce that the process has finished.
