1. Download the Pine RPM from MIT Software Distribution.
2. Become root.
3. Install the RPM you downloaded in Step 1 with the following command. Be sure to replace packagename with the RPM name:
   
   rpm -vih packagename
   
   Result: You have successfully installed Pine on your workstation. This distribution of Pine is pre-configured for use with MIT email accounts. If you want to use pine with a non-MIT email account, see Q: How do I check email from a non-MIT account using Pine?
