Overview
MIT residence halls offer a variety of telephone service options, determined by the network capabilities of each building. The options include analog telephone service, cell phones, Voice over IP (VoIP), and MIT personal SIP accounts.
For the Fall 2008 semester, analog telephones are provided in each dorm room with the exception of Green Hall (W5), Burton-Conner (W51), MacGregor (W61), and "New" Ashdown (NW35), where Voice over IP (VoIP) and MIT personal SIP accounts are available.
