All requests for new telephone service or changes in existing service should go through your department's Administrative Officer (AO).
Each department on campus is assigned a Customer Service Representative (CSR). To find out which CSR handles your department's account please refer to the CSR-Department page.

Circuits
Circuits are used for the following MIT functions:
- Card readers
- Parking lots
- Vending machines
- Cash registers
- Security alarms
Circuits are either full duplex or half duplex. Full duplex circuits run from one location to another and back again to the original location. Half duplex circuits run from one location and terminate at another.

Circuit installation note: $200 per circuit installation

Jacks
- Floor plans are required for jack locations. Please follow the link to the MIT Floor Plans web site to obtain an accurate rendition of your building's plan.
- Building number, room number and jack location ID number should be written on either the face or top of all jacks.
- Please include what type of jack you will need or that you currently have. To find out, view either link below by selecting the appropriate icon.

If a new jack is needed for a telephone, the cost is $375.00 per jack.
Projects
Requests for more than five installations or changes are more complex than simple installations.
For special projects, large-scale moves, changes or disconnections, contact your CSR early in the project so that they can schedule work and minimize delays. The following information is required:
- Department
- Name of contact person in the department
- Building and room
- Account number for billing
- Date of project
- Size of project (e.g., number of telephones to be moved)
