Email and Calendar
MIT provides integrated email and calendaring to community members via Exchange Online.
win.mit.edu Windows Domain
win.mit.edu is an IS&T centrally-maintained Microsoft Windows domain intended for general use by all of MIT. It provides a common set of services, data, and tools. Many aspects and features within this domain are customizable by participating Departments, Labs, and Centers (DLCs) and, in certain cases, individual users.
Computing Equipment Loan Program
IS&T maintains a limited pool of computing equipment available for loan to eligible MIT community members.
Data Warehouse
The Data Warehouse is a stable, read-only database that combines information from separate systems into one easy-to-access location.
Guest Kerberos Accounts
MIT onboarding processes automatically provision a Kerberos account for students, staff, faculty, and family members who reside on campus. Other individuals who need an MIT digital identity in order to access resources requiring authentication, but who are not active students, staff, or faculty, may be provided a sponsored guest account.
Virus Detection and Prevention
Make sure you are running virus protection software that will guard against most computer infections. IS&T provides Sophos virus protection software, free of charge, to the MIT community.
Software Patches and OS Updates
If your computer seems to be working fine, you may wonder why you should apply a patch. By not applying patches, you might be leaving the door open for malware to come in.
Software Distribution
IS&T offers a wide range of free software applications for the MIT community. Browse the software grid to search for products by the categories that interest you.
Passwords
Passwords protect and limit access to your personal data and to IT resources at MIT.
If your password is over a year old, you will be required to change it when you renew your MIT certificate(s). Note: IS&T will never ask you to send or reset your password via email.
