  • All community members may access their @mit.edu email account via office.com.
  • Students, faculty, and staff may download Office desktop applications from office.com for installation on an MIT-owned device or a personally-owned device to be used for MIT purposes.
  • Affiliates may use Microsoft 365 applications online at office.com but may not download desktop versions.
  • All community members may use Microsoft's mobile applications for office.com products.

Other options

  • MIT departments may install Office software on any MIT-owned computer, provided that it will only be used by current MIT students, staff, faculty, or contractors for MIT purposes only.
  • Students may also run an additional virtualized copy of Office.
  • Lincoln Laboratory staff should use the Lincoln software portal.

Microsoft Office is available to authorized members of the MIT community through MIT's Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA).
