The Data Center Operations Services Team (DOST) provides customers with affordable operational excellence. We maintain and operate a physically-secured, environmentally-controlled facility that houses MIT's enterprise and departmental servers. The team works very closely with Server Operations and clients.
The Data Center
The W91 Data Center is a 6,500 square foot, centrally-located facility. It houses and manages:
- Enterprise-wide business application servers
- Related centralized computer generated printing
- Selected departmental servers
- Network-based remote desktop backup service (TSM),
- Co-location services for housing of departmental servers and high performance computers (HPC) for research labs and centers
DOST manages two computer rooms housing approximately 250 servers, 30 TBytes of data storage, 250 TBytes of nearline data storage, .5 PBytes of automated tape storage, and a 24,000 data tape library.

Monday - Friday: 7AM - 6PM
Exceptions: MIT holidays and special closings
