Get Connected: Request a Connection for a Computer or Printer

Do you need to connect a computer or printer to MITnet, MIT's campus network?

If you have a jack to plug the computer or printer into, and the computer or printer has an IP address, you should be all set.

If you don't have a jack and/or an IP address, select one of the following scenarios below to start the process of getting connected.

• You DO NOT HAVE somewhere to plug the computer/printer in (a jack).
  You DO NEED an IP address.
  • You need a new jack installed and activated, and a new IP address.

• You DO NOT HAVE somewhere to plug the computer/printer in (a jack).
  You DO NOT NEED an IP address.
  • You just need a new jack installed and activated.

• You HAVE somewhere to plug the computer/printer in (a jack).
  The jack IS NOT activated.
  You DO NEED an IP address.
  • You need a jack activated and a new IP address.

• You HAVE somewhere to plug the computer/printer in (a jack).
  The jack IS NOT activated.
  You HAVE an IP address.
  • You just need a jack activated.
