Athena "clusters" are public computer labs that are located throughout the MIT campus.
Important: On October 8, 2016 the 38-370 Athena cluster closed permanently. The Athena cluster combo will be changed on October 19, 2016. Run: tellme combo at an Athena prompt to see the new combo.
Benefits and key features
- The clusters are available 24 hours a day.
- Find Athena Clusters on the MIT Map.
- Learn more about the general-use Athena clusters maintained by IS&T.
Use of the Athena clusters is restricted to MIT students, faculty, staff, and other MIT Kerberos account owners. (See the rules for Athena facilities in the Athena Rules of Use.)
To enter these facilities, you need to know the cluster lock combination. The combination changes annually on October 1st. To find out this combination, enter the following command at your athena% prompt: tellme combo.
