Self-Service Accessories

IS&T provides IT accessories for instructors to use in MIT classrooms, as well as ethernet cables for staff and students, through a set of self-service vending machines in several convenient locations on campus. These machines also provide KF94 face masks to any MIT community member who has an active MIT ID.

These supplies are provided at no charge. Tap your digital MIT ID on your phone or your MIT ID card to the machine’s reader and select the item you need.

Professional Audio Production

MIT Audiovisual Services has moved from the Division of Student Life and is now part of Information Systems and Technology.

IS&T provides an on-campus audio studio and editing room outfitted with a professional-grade vocal booth. The studio may be used to record interviews or conversations in-person, over the phone, or via the web.

Post-production services ensure that your media is professionally captured, edited, and finalized for publication.

Media Digitization

MIT Audiovisual Services has moved from the Division of Student Life and is now part of Information Systems and Technology.

IS&T’s AV Services will transfer departmental recordings, archives, and personal media to common digital formats, delivered for download from a convenient cloud-based platform.

Note: AV Services is not responsible for any damage to original media that may occur during the digitization process.

Digital Signage

MIT Audiovisual Services has moved from the Division of Student Life and is now part of Information Systems and Technology.

Digital Signage lets you display a variety of media: presentation slides, web pages, live feeds, images, and wayfinding applications. It may also be integrated with the MIT Alert emergency notification system.

Lightweight Lecture Capture

IS&T has equipped a set of classrooms for automated, unattended video and audio recording of lectures that appear on the MIT Subject Listing and Schedule and are enrolled in this program.

Note: Recording only takes place in these rooms if initiated by a request from the instructor via the MIT Atlas app.
