Passwords protect and limit access to your personal data and to IT resources at MIT.
If your password is over a year old, you will be required to change it when you renew your MIT certificate(s). Note: IS&T will never ask you to send or reset your password via email.
Benefits and key features
The MIT Kerberos password grants members of the MIT community access to various resources that require authentication, including many web services such as online email and calendar (Outlook Web App). It also provides access to the secure wireless network: MIT SECURE.
You can change your password in various ways: on Athena, on the web, or by using a Kerberos utility available from the IS&T software grid. If you have forgotten your password you can still update it online with a valid MIT certificate. For assistance contact the IS&T Service Desk.
