Dropbox is a file hosting service that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software. Dropbox for Business is available to the entire MIT community.

Code42 CrashPlan

Code42 CrashPlan is the recommended free cloud backup solution for desktops and laptops at MIT. Code42 CrashPlan sends a secure, encrypted copy of your data to Code42 software servers via the CrashPlan server and Internet2 connection in the IS&T Data Center. It allows for simple, self-service data restoration/migration and runs a continuous backup in the background. Learn more.

Note: TSM is the recommended service for backing up servers.

SecureCRT is a terminal emulator designed for Internet use with support for Secure Shell (SSH). At MIT, you can use SecureCRT to log in to Athena dialup machines securely

SecureFX is a secure file transfer application for Windows that uses the SSH2 protocol. Use Secure FX to transfer files securely to and from Athena.
